Eliza Gregory grew up in San Francisco, but also lived in southern California, New Jersey, and New York, before moving to Phoenix in 2005. She is the recipient of a 2008 Arizona Commission on the Arts Project Grant to support her work making portraits of resettled refugees in Phoenix. Thanks to a public art commission from the City of Phoenix, she currently has a photograph on display at the bus stop installation at 7th Avenue and Glenrosa. She joined the eye lounge gallery and artists’ cooperative in 2007. Her next show there will open September 19th and run through the second weekend in October.

Her work is currently on view at the ASU Museum of Anthropology in a show called FUSE: Portraits of Refugee Households in Metropolitan Phoenix, which was supported in part by a gift from the Ted Decker Catalyst Fund.
